What is The YSPNC KidSafe Photographer Initiative?
YSPNC holds dear the human rights of all children! YSPNC endeavors to close the gaps that exist in the protection of America’s youth when kids are photographed during school or sports related activities.
Specifically, we have defined three security gaps where the youth of today have been violated and need protection:
- The need to be protected from any kind of inappropriate behavior by adults, professionals, volunteers, fans, and peers.
- The need to have their images protected from open use for sales, marketing, promotion, comment, or exploitation whether by professionals, sideline amateurs, fans, peers, or predators.
- The need to have their personal data protected from access by anyone other than their family, without specific approval, implied or written, from their parents.
The YSPNC KidSafe Photographer Initiative, holds active members to a high standard of character, a dedication to solid business ethics, a commitment to protect all youth, and the most recognized criminal background screening program in America. We require an annual screening, review and renewal for all members. All KidSafe Photographers wear Photo ID Badges with their name, membership number, activation and expiration dates.
We therefore expect all schools and sports associations to step up and require their professional photographers, sideline amateurs, and spectators with cameras, to come to YSPNC, submit to our process, and attain our Certificate of Completion, and make the commitment to keep kids safe!
